Personal Care Aide (PCA) Per diem All Shifts

Assists residents in the Adult Care home with various activities of daily living. Must be certified as a Personal Care Aide in NY. Per diem position Salary: $16.90 per hour
$2.00 Shift Differential for evening and night shifts

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to residents, family members, or employees of organization.
Must be physically able to perform the essential functions of the job
New York State Certificate for Personal Care Aide or Home Health Aide is required.

Assists residents with dressing and grooming such as care of hair, nails and teeth.
Assists residents with bathing, showering, and toileting as needed.
Assists residents at mealtime with transporting to and from the dining room.
Assists residents with transfer or ambulation.
Makes beds and performs other light housekeeping duties such as removing dirty linens, straightening rooms, etc.
Performs charting duties including activity and treatment sheets.
Checks daily appointments for residents such as for the beauty shop, etc and assists with transport.
Encourages and assists residents to activities when necessary.
Sorts and distributes residents' laundry. Re-labels personal laundry as needed.
